BLAYDES, Gertrude O. Lackey - Putnam

North Salem – Gert O. Blaydes, 90, of North Salem, died at 12:45 a.m. Sunday in Golden Rule Nursing Home at Danville. She had been ill since March 16. Mrs. Blaydes was a member of the Christian Church. She was born Dec. 11, 1885, in Putnam County, a daughter of John and Lucy Ellen Lackey. She married Frank Blaydes in 1904. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. B.A. Ellis of Lizton and Mrs. Sue Ellen Ayers of North Salem. Two other children are deceased. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Porter Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Davis and the Rev. Wayne Stine officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Tuesday.   -– jlr
